SOT Analysis Using J(CL)4
Align MD begins our partnership with a strategic, operational and tactical analysis that uses a proprietary methodology we call J(CL)4. We apply J(CL)4 at the operational and tactical levels, drilling down on the processes and practices in the emergency department and Hospitalist Service and between them and the rest of the hospital. We build a performance improvement infrastructure directed toward a jointly defined vision statement.
Providers, nurses, administration and community physicians are all involved in the analysis, which produces a set of tools used to drive success. And while the tools are great, the teamwork built during the process is priceless.
Leader-2-Leader
At Align MD we believe success in the emergency department and hospitalist service begins and ends with leadership, period.
We host leadership training classes, but really our most effective tool is our leader-2-leader training program. In leader-2-leader teaching, the leadership mentor has to be in the foxhole with the learner, doing together the various activities necessary to build a vision, to develop people, and to navigate the organization toward the vision. Our company leaders train medical directors and other physicians to be leaders using the leader-2-leader technique.
Corporate Benchmarking
The products of the Strategic Operational and Tactical analysis allow us to benchmark both facility leaders and individual providers accross our company and in comparrison to facilities and providers accross the country. This gives our leadership the information to fuel improvement through the infrastructure developed prior to assuming leadership of an ED.
